Brief Description - Purpose and Educational Objectives
The programme was designed in the context of the anniversary exhibition titled "Run on the waves of the terrible sea. 1821. The Struggle at Sea", which was co-organized by the General State Archives of Greece and the Eugenides Foundation in view of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, with the prospect of continuing to be offered after the end of the anniversary year due to the timeless value of the subject.
- Offers an imaginary journey into the naval warfare operations of the Greek Revolution of 1821, through documents and sources, by utilizing modern methods and free internet tools. During the programme we learn about the personalities, ships, equipment, ideas, events and actions of the heroes of the Race at Sea.
- Enables students to become familiar with the criteria for evaluating information and resources, as well as to identify the appropriate information to answer specific questions that highlight the heroes of the Race and important moments from their action.
