Create a mobile application for android mobile phones using MIT App Inventor

The Science and Technology Centre of the Eugenides Foundation invites you to create your own “travel application” in an online workshop. Through the past few months, we are under the measure of lockdown, so we cannot leave our house unless we can prove why this is necessary. This online workshop will help you create your own android application, which will automatically send the necessary text message to the Greek authorities and will ensure the appropriate travel certificates in order to leave your house.

The workshop takes place in two online parts.

During the first part, the participants of the workshop learn the basics of the App Inventor platform, as well as how they can build applications for their android mobile phone. Then, they create a first simple application, to get acquainted with the environment of MIT App Inventor 2 and try their application with the accompanying application of App Inventor, AI Companion. At the end of the first workshop, they are asked to make the travel application themselves, which they should have implemented by the time of the second meeting. During the second (optional) meeting, there is a discussion about the applications made by the participants, an implementation of the applications by the demonstrators and resolution of questions and concerns. Finally, the installation of the application on the mobile phone is presented.
