The New Digital Planetarium invites you on a thrilling journey back in time, to the era of the dinosaurs’ undisputed reign on Earth, as well as to the mystery of their extinction. By briefly presenting just a few of the possible explanations for their mass extinction, the new digital exhibition “The Death of the Dinosaurs” focuses on the most widely accepted theory, according to which the dinosaurs became extinct due to the impact of a massive asteroid on our planet approximately 65 million years ago. Just how likely is a similar scenario of future extinction for the species currently living on our planet?
