The Eugenides Foundation and the other charitable endowments under its umbrella, having awarded hundreds of scholarships since 1956, continue to announce new scholarships annually for graduates of the National Technical University of Athens, graduates of the Hellenic Coast Guard, students of the Sivitanidios Public School of Arts and Professions, and wherever else deemed appropriate by the Foundation’s Administration.

It has been observed that the Eugenides Foundation’s scholarship recipients go on to have distinguished professional careers, become prominent figures in their communities, and hold important positions in the private and public sectors.

Scholarship announcements are typically posted on the Foundation’s website between mid-March and late April each year. The announcements set forth the terms and conditions for receiving scholarships.

The scholarship programs are primarily intended for graduate and doctoral studies, though scholarships may also be awarded for postdoctoral studies, studies at technical colleges, technical high schools, higher education institutions, etc. In addition, the Foundation awards scholarships for studies not only in Greece but also abroad.

What Our Scholars Say About Us

“I was part of the Foundation’s first class of scholarship recipients in 1957, when the Foundation helped me and sent me abroad for further training.” When I returned to Greece during those difficult years of the 1960s, I was in high demand for work. "Within two days, I already had a job offer, and from then until the end of my career, thanks to the Foundation's offer and the specialized training it provided me, I was never out of work."

Kostas Ch.

“As a member of the Coast Guard, I received a scholarship and completed my master’s degree in International Transportation in England. One of my biggest dreams came true, and I graduated with honors. The culture of research and the pursuit of knowledge that it fosters have helped me throughout my career. The scholarship supported my entire professional career."

Vasiliki A.

"My scholarship was for my graduate studies in Telecommunications. Events like being selected as a Eugenides Foundation Fellow and having your studies supported give you strength and fill you with joy and optimism to face any challenge.”

The first scholarship recipients from 1956

The Foundation announced its first scholarships for study abroad immediately after the publication in the Government Gazette of the Royal Decree establishing the Eugenides Foundation and ratifying its administrative and management regulations in February 1956. This rapid announcement was made possible thanks to the thorough groundwork carried out by Marianthi Simou and her advisors.
