Outreach and the development of strategic partnerships are a key pillar of the Eugenides Foundation’s mission. With the aim of strengthening its contribution to the fields of science, technology, education, and skills development, the Foundation systematically invests in building strong partnerships with leading educational, scientific, and institutional organizations in Greece and abroad.
Through these partnerships, the Foundation strengthens its international presence, promotes the transfer of knowledge and expertise, contributes to the dissemination of scientific knowledge in society, and creates new opportunities for students, teachers, professionals, and the broader educational community. By way of example, here are some of the most significant partnerships that have been established in recent years.
The memorandum of cooperation with CERN, whose main objectives are to disseminate CERN’s scientific and practical achievements to the public, the co-organization of exhibitions featuring interactive experiments and authentic scientific artifacts, the organization of visits by high school students and teachers to CERN, and collaboration to highlight emerging skills in cutting-edge technical professions.
The Cooperation Agreement with the World Maritime University, which is internationally recognized for its significant role in maritime education, research, and development, in a series of activities in maritime education, highlighted by the collaboration on training instructors in the use of simulators in maritime education.
The Foundation’s active participation in the activities of the European Waterborne platform, including collaboration on the presentation of the European strategy for the shipping industry and ports, with an emphasis on identifying the technical skills required in the nine different areas of action of the aforementioned strategy.
The Memorandum of Understanding with Amazon to encourage student engagement in STEM and cloud computing and to co-organize competitions for autonomous vehicles using artificial intelligence.
The Memorandum of Cooperation with the British Council on issues related to the technical skills needed in Greece, autonomous systems and artificial intelligence, as well as the creation of an internationally accredited proficiency examination process in Maritime English.
The Memorandum of Cooperation with the Greek-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aims to strengthen the link between education and the labor market and address skills shortages. The partnership also promotes the “VET Excellence Awards Greece,” highlighting excellence in technical and vocational education and training.
The Memorandum of Cooperation with the National Observatory of Athens, which focuses on strengthening scientific, environmental, and digital education through experiential learning. At the same time, the active involvement of citizens in the practical application of scientific knowledge is being promoted.
The cooperation agreement with the French Embassy and the French Institute of Athens, for collaboration on issues related to applied technical professions and the joint organization of technical experiments.
