The Eugenides Foundation’s publishing work constitutes a timeless and strategic pillar of its mission, through which knowledge takes shape, direction, and practical application in education and professional life.

With more than 579 titles and over 48.5 million copies, the Foundation has made a unique mark in the field of technical, vocational, and maritime education in Greece.

At the heart of this project lies a steadfast vision: to provide knowledge that has real value. Practical, understandable, and applicable knowledge—knowledge that empowers people to grow, acquire skills, and build their future.

From the earliest technical manuals to today’s textbooks, each publication is designed to meet the needs of the times and the job market.

Publications on maritime education hold a special place, as they have long supported the Merchant Marine Academies and seafarers. Thanks to continuous updates, scientific oversight, and close collaboration with the educational and professional communities, these books have become a standard reference for generations of seafarers and technicians.

Behind every title lies a well-organized and demanding process: selection of expert authors, evaluation, editing, and continuous updating to ensure that the content remains current and reliable.

1957: The publication of the Eugenides Foundation's first book

Immediately after its founding in 1954, the Eugenides Foundation made supporting technical education one of its top priorities. His first major undertaking was the writing and publication of appropriate textbooks for students at technical schools, which at that time fell under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry.

The need was particularly acute. Students at both day and evening technical schools did not have approved textbooks that met the requirements of their education.  In the face of this gap, the Eugenides Foundation took action: to create high-quality, affordable textbooks tailored to the needs of technical education, thereby making a substantial contribution to supporting students and improving technical education in Greece.
