Students learn about 3D printing technology. They learn about the parts that make up a 3D printer and understand how it works. They are introduced to the applications of 3D printing in various areas of modern life and learn about the different printing materials.
They then design their own simple shapes using 3D design software specifically selected for their age group. The figure is designed to represent the casing of a simple electrical circuit that includes a motor and two batteries.
The students build the electrical circuit, place it inside the shell, and watch the figure come to life right before their eyes!
Throughout the workshop, students apply the Design Thinking method, which is based on three stages: prototype development, testing, and refinement.
Learning Objectives:
-Understanding 3D printing technology
-Familiarity with the electronic and mechanical components of a 3D printer and how it works
-Introduction to the concepts of 3D design and modeling using specialized software
-Understanding and creating a simple electrical circuit
-Familiarity with construction principles and concepts
