The discovery of everyday phenomena that “hide” interesting chemical reactions.

How is rust formed, and how is it removed? Why is oil such a stubborn stain? How are spheres made in molecular gastronomy?

Through simple experiments, we explore the chemistry behind familiar, everyday products and phenomena. We learn about the chemical composition of cleaning products and the chemistry of combustion; we discover polymers and their properties through impressive experiments, and we observe the creation of different types of plastic. Finally, we experiment with burning various materials and observe how colored flames are produced.

Chemistry in Everyday Life and the Environment is a series of experiments that demonstrates that the science of chemistry is not confined to the laboratory, but is evident in dozens of phenomena in our daily lives.
