An immersive experience that reveals how technology “understands” the world around us
What does a system need in order to “understand” the world around it?
How are changes in the environment converted into information?
And how does this information lead to action?
The technology demonstration “Discovering the World of Sensors” is an interactive educational experience dedicated to the fascinating world of sensors and their applications in everyday life. Designed specifically for school groups, it offers students the opportunity to experience firsthand how modern technological systems perceive, process, and respond to environmental stimuli.
Through a series of demonstrations, students learn about different types of sensors and see firsthand how they are used in real-world applications. At the same time, through guided experimentation, they follow, step by step, the process by which a system collects data through sensors, processes it, and ultimately takes specific actions.
Special emphasis is placed on children's participation.
Students are actively involved in the process: They interact with the sensors, observe, formulate hypotheses, test them, influence the course of the demonstrations, and are gradually led to understanding through experience.
By harnessing children’s natural curiosity as the driving force behind learning, the performance creates a dynamic environment where technology is understood not only as a theoretical concept, but as a tool directly connected to the real world.
The performance aims to:
- brings students into meaningful contact with the world of sensors and their applications,
- demonstrate how sensors are used to collect data from the environment,
- explain the relationship between stimulus and response,
- enhance experiential learning through active participation,
- build bridges between what is learned in school and the real-world applications of technology.
What Students Gain
By watching and participating in the technology demonstration, students:
- gain a clear and organized understanding of how the sensors work,
- understand the process of transforming data into information and action,
- practice formulating hypotheses and interpreting results,
- develop skills in observation, logical thinking, and problem-solving,
- enhance their active participation in the learning process,
- foster a motivation for further engagement with science and technology.
