A journey of discovery into the concept of an ecosystem and the interaction of its various components
How does energy become available in ecosystems? Where are the raw materials for synthesizing essential substances found? How do these substances become available again to living organisms? How is it possible to drink the same water as a dinosaur? What impact do organisms have on their environment?
Starting with the functioning of plant organisms and photosynthesis and extending to decomposition, the importance and impact of various living organisms on their environment are brought to life through experimental demonstrations.
Research is being conducted on the conversion of solar radiation into chemical energy, how living organisms utilize chemical energy, and how respiration in organisms relates to the greenhouse effect. Microorganisms that break down organic matter are observed under a microscope, and their importance is discussed.
The water cycle and how chemical pollutants accumulate in bodies of water are presented through experiments. The impact of human activities on the environment is examined, pollutants in water are detected, and one of the most significant environmental pollutants—plastic—is highlighted.
