What role does our heart play? How does blood travel throughout the body? Why is the brain so important?

Through experiments, observations, and hands-on activities, young scientists discover the fascinating world of the human body and understand how the heart, blood, brain, and senses work together to keep us alive.

The Eugenides Foundation presents the Science Show “Little Scientists”: "The Incredible Adventures of the Heart and Brain," an interactive experience that invites children ages 8 and up to explore two of the most important systems of the human body: the circulatory and nervous systems.

What You'll Discover

The Heart in Action

What makes our heart so important? Participants examine models of the heart, measure their heartbeats with an electronic stethoscope, and discover how each beat pumps blood throughout the body.

The Journey of Blood

What path does blood follow through the body? Through interactive models, visitors learn how oxygen and nutrients are transported to every cell and how waste products are removed.

The World of Cells

What lies beyond what we can see with the naked eye? With the help of a microscope, young scientists observe heart tissue, blood samples, and nerve tissue, discovering what they look like

Through experiments, microscope observations, scientific models, and interactive activities, participants learn how the heart works, discover the role of blood in transporting oxygen and nutrients, and understand how the brain and the nervous system work together to coordinate our every movement, sensation, and reaction.

The performance combines knowledge with participation and experiential learning, transforming the human body into a world full of discoveries.

different cells in the human body.

The Brain and the Nervous System

How do messages travel from the body to the brain? Through models, experiments, and interactive apps, participants learn how the brain and nerves coordinate our every movement, thought, and sensation.

The Senses and Perception

Can our senses deceive us? Through experiments and optical illusions, children explore how our senses gather information and how the brain interprets it, revealing that our perception of reality is not always accurate.

Why the Eugenides Foundation?

The performance takes place at the Eugenides Foundation’s Science and Technology Center, a venue dedicated to experiential learning and the dissemination of science. Through interactive experiences and modern educational approaches, people of all ages have the opportunity to explore the world of science, experiment, and discover knowledge in a creative and participatory way.
