The Eugenides Foundation is seeking a part-time undergraduate or graduate student from the Department of Chemistry.
The position primarily involves being on-site at the Science and Technology Center, with the following objectives:
- to assist visitors (school groups on weekdays and the general public on weekends) with whatever they need (e.g., instructions on how to use the exhibits, explanations of the phenomena observed, guidance tailored to their interests, answers to questions, etc.).
- ensuring its smooth operation (e.g., arranging exhibits, documenting problems, carrying out improvements and maintenance of equipment where possible, communicating with the shift supervisor, checking visitors in and out, assisting people with disabilities, etc.).
- the production of educational materials
- the development of content and the implementation of educational activities
In addition to a certificate of enrollment or a degree, the candidate must meet the following qualifications/criteria:
Required Qualifications:
- Commitment to student education. Educational experience in related fields is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills (e.g., lectures, public presentations, creating informational materials, writing articles, etc.), in both Greek and English.
- Good, comprehensive knowledge of STEM fields.
- Very good computer skills.
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Analytical skills, creative thinking, imagination, and a team spirit.
- Willingness and ability to acquire new knowledge and skills.
Previous work experience will be taken into consideration, particularly in related fields or areas.
