Selected Collaborations and Participations

Naval Cadet School

Since 2013, the Eugenides Foundation Library has been collaborating with the Naval Cadet School, under a memorandum of cooperation aimed at strengthening the services and educational activities of both libraries, as well as promoting knowledge in the fields of science and technology.

As part of this collaboration, training seminars are organized for cadets on the use of libraries, searching for and evaluating information, and the effective use of print and digital resources for their academic work.

Network of Maritime Libraries (DINAUBI)

The Library is a founding member of the Network of Maritime Libraries (DINAU.BI.), following the signing of a memorandum of cooperation with the Aikaterini Laskaridis Library and the University of the Aegean Library.

The network's goal is to enhance access to maritime knowledge, showcase the collections of participating institutions, and develop synergies that improve services for researchers, students, and the general public. By coordinating their activities, the libraries in the network promote the exchange of expertise, the optimal use of their resources, and the promotion of Greece’s maritime bibliographic heritage.

Today, in addition to these three libraries, the libraries of the following organizations have also been incorporated into the network:

National Technical University of Athens

Hellenic Maritime Museum

University of Piraeus

Naval Cadet School

Naval History Service

Hellenic Institute of Naval Technology (ELINT)

Naval War College

The Network's website can be found (here).

Organizing Committee for Library Support

Since 2012, the Library has been a member of the Library Support Organizing Committee, a collaborative initiative involving Greek and international organizations that supports the modernization of libraries and information centers in Greece.

Through its participation in the Committee, the Library contributes to the exchange of best practices, the professional development of librarians, and the promotion of modern information services for the benefit of users.

SciLMi – Scientific Literacy through Makers and Libraries

The Eugenides Foundation Library is participating as a partner in the European Erasmus+ Teacher Academy project “SciLMi – Meta-Scientific Literacies in the (Mis-)Information Age,” which aims to strengthen teachers’ skills so they can help students critically evaluate scientific claims and address misinformation and misleading information in the moderndigital age.

Through its participation in the project, the Library highlights the role of libraries as agents of information literacy and supports the development of educational practices that foster critical thinking, scientific literacy, and the responsible use of information. At the same time, it participates in a pan-European network of universities, educational organizations, libraries, and scientific institutions working to integrate these skills into education.
