Access to the Library
Use of the Library is free to anyone interested, provided they accept these Rules and register in the Membership Registry.
Upon registration, each member receives a personal membership card, which grants access to the Library’s facilities and services.
Entry and exit are conducted through the Special Controlled Access Gate using the membership card. For visitors who do not have a card, a temporary access code will be issued upon completion of the relevant application form.

Member Registration – Privacy Policy
Registration is completed by presenting an ID card or other official identification document and filling out the relevant application form. Minors must have a parent or guardian present or provide consent.
The membership card is valid for one year and is renewed by updating the member’s information.
After the card expires, the applicant must update their information; the Eugenides Foundation may also notify the applicant in writing or by phone regarding the card’s expiration. The accuracy of the information is the responsibility of the applicant, and the Eugenides Foundation assumes no liability in this regard. If the membership card is not updated, the information will be retained in the Foundation’s records for historical and statistical purposes without the personal data being accessed. The Eugenides Foundation respects personal data and takes technical and organizational measures to comply with the requirements of data protection laws. The applicant has the rights provided by personal data protection legislation (access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability, etc.), as well as the right to request an explanation regarding the processing of such data, in accordance with the provisions of the law, by contacting the Eugenides Foundation (L. 387 Syggrou Ave., ZIP Code 175 64 P. (Faliro) or by email at admin@eef.edu.gr. The Eugenides Foundation will make every effort to fulfill his request within thirty (30) days and will inform him in writing of the status of his request.

Accessibility and Inclusion
The Library is committed to ensuring equal access to its services and collections.
To serve people with disabilities and those with limited mobility, accessible facilities and specialized equipment are available, such as:
• elevator access,
• workstations equipped with assistive technologies,
• closed-circuit magnification system,
• Braille printer and support software.

Services Offered
The Library offers users the opportunity to:
• use the study areas and the reading room,
• borrow books and other materials in accordance with the Library’s lending policies
• search for and make use of the print and digital materials in the collections,
• receive guidance from staff on searching for and evaluating information,
• have access to online resources and digital services,
• participate in training programs, workshops, and information literacy activities,
• stay informed about scientific and educational topics through events and presentations.
• use specialized workstations and assistive technologies for people with disabilities.
• They make use of self-service features through the Integrated RFID System.
Remote access is also available for most of the digital collections.

Digital Services
The Library provides its members with access to digital services that facilitate the search, management, and use of its collections and electronic resources.
Personal Member Account
The Library allows members to create an account through its Online Catalog (OPAC). Through their account, members can:
• track their loans,
• renew borrowed items,
• place holds,
• update their contact information,
• receive updates from the Library,
• suggest new materials to enrich the collections,
• create personal lists and notes.

Computers and Internet Access
The Library's computers provide access to:
• online via the EugenWiFi network,
• the Library’s electronic resources,
• word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
Users may also access the wireless network using their personal devices.
Installing software or modifying the settings of Library equipment is not permitted.

Circulation Services
Right to Borrow
Book loans are provided free of charge to Library members.
Each member may borrow up to two (2) books at a time for a period of fifteen (15) days.
Certain categories of materials are available exclusively for on-site use within the Library and cannot be borrowed.
These categories include:
• magazines,
• reference books (such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, and other reference works),
• series volumes,
• rare and valuable editions.
Books that cannot be checked out are marked with a yellow sticker on their spines so that users can easily identify them.
Loan Renewal
The loan period may be renewed for an additional fifteen (15) days, provided the item has not been requested by another member.
Reservations
If a member is interested in a book that is currently on loan, it can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. When the book is returned to the Library, it is held in the member’s name for 3 business days from the time they are notified that the book is available.
Overdue Items and Lost Items
Readers who unjustifiably delay returning books beyond the specified time, and after receiving relevant notifications (by phone and email), will have their borrowing privileges revoked. The Foundation, at its sole discretion, may impose a fine for each day of delay and reserves all other legal rights.
In the event of loss or serious damage to library materials, the member is required to replace them or cover the loss in accordance with the Library’s guidelines.
Self-Service via RFID
The Integrated Radio Frequency System (RFID) system operated by the Library includes, among other features, a self-service reader station. This station allows members, by scanning their personal membership card, to borrow, renew, or return books they have borrowed, as well as to view their library account summary (how many and which books they have borrowed and whether there are any late fees).

Rules for Using the Facilities
To ensure the smooth operation of the Library, users must:
• to maintain quiet in the study areas,
• take care of the Library’s materials and equipment,
• not to return books and journals to the shelves,
• set their cell phones to silent mode,
• keep the premises clean.
The Library is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal belongings.
The following are not permitted:
• the consumption of food and beverages,
• smoking,
• bringing pets onto the premises, with the exception of service dogs for people with disabilities.
Photography is permitted at the visitor’s own risk and in accordance with applicable law.

Collections and Collection Development
The Library's collections primarily cover the fields of technical education, maritime education, the natural sciences, new technologies, as well as selected titles in the humanities, social sciences, and literature.
The collections are expanded through purchases, subscriptions, and donations.
Members may suggest new materials for acquisition, while the final decision is made by the Foundation’s governing bodies.

Donations of Materials
The Library accepts donations of materials that:
• It falls under the thematic categories of its collections,
• is in good condition,
• has educational, scientific, or informational value.
Donations are accepted following an evaluation by the Library.

10. Final Provisions
The Eugenides Foundation reserves the right to amend these Regulations, as well as the Library’s policies and services, when deemed necessary.
