Director of the Eugenides Foundation’s New Digital Planetarium

Manos Kitsonas is Director of the Eugenides Foundation’s New Digital Planetarium. He has been a member of the team behind the Planetarium since 1998, when he took part in its design, and subsequently contributed to every stage of its construction, equipment installation, and operational planning.

He served as Technical Director from the Planetarium’s opening in 2003 until 2014, when he assumed the role of Director. He is also a member of the Planetarium’s production team, which, since 2002, has created more than 40 shows on astronomy, astrophysics, space exploration, and technology. He has also designed and overseen all of the Planetarium’s technical upgrades.

He holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He has been a member of the Council of the International Planetarium Society (IPS) since 2006 and has chaired its Awards Committee since 2014.
