The Day Star
This is a fascinating journey to the Sun. From its birth to its ultimate demise and from the ancient Egyptian and Mayan civilizations to our state-of-the-art orbiting solar telescopes, our journey will reveal the Sun to be far more active than we would have ever imagined. And indeed, the sunspot cycle, the ceaseless gust of the solar wind, the enormous coronal mass ejections and the vast amounts of energy produced in its nuclear furnace, hidden in the core, are all part of a greater solar activity that astronomers strive to understand its intricacies, unlocking in the process the secrets of our “Day Star”.
