Build and program your own Self-driving Car from scratch!

In this course, we will implement a series of trajectory planning and autonomous navigation algorithms and test the operation of our self-driving car on a medium-scale track assuming its digital map is known.

We will implement a series of autonomous exploration and map building algorithms on a medium-scale track containing obstacles. The self-driving car will create the map by itself with the location of track boundaries, obstacles and buildings, while it will be able to navigate autonomously avoiding collisions and obstacles inside a previously unknown workspace. We will implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms for the intelligent navigation of the self-driving car on a track with complex configuration. More specifically, our vehicle will be trained to recognize traffic signs (e.g. STOP), traffic lights and respond appropriately to their indications (e.g. gradual deceleration and stop at a red light, smooth start at a green light, etc.). A complex competition, where the participants assigned in groups, are challenged to synthesize efficiently all the knowledge and tools acquired in the previous courses. They will have to complete successfully, using their self-driving car, a route on a complex large-scale track, with obstacles and landmarks within, while taking into account traffic code signals, traffic lights as well as the moving.
