The New Digital Planetarium’s production “Messenger from the Universe” invites you on a fascinating journey of discovery about light. Visible light is only a tiny part of the electromagnetic radiation emitted by celestial objects. When, however, we started building telescopes that could “see” in other wavelengths as well, our knowledge of the Universe expanded tremendously. From the great observatories in the Chilean desert of Atacama to the Hubble space telescope, and from the exploration of the Solar system to our communication satellites, this show highlights the importance of light in astronomy research, as well as how Space exploration and scientific research in general benefit society at large.
