Opportunities and challenges in the modern online environment

Modern digital technologies offer more and more learning opportunities to the new generations but at the same time they can create risks. With the rapid development of networks, information & communication technologies and artificial intelligence, cyber security and protecting ourselves from disinformation in the digital environment is a very important issue for everyone.

The aim of this program is to educate students learn about the potential threats of the digital world toward themselves and their own data. More specifically, participants will learn to recognize digital challenges, to choose the right ways to protect their data and digital identity, to evaluate information with critical thinking and to use Internet services safely.

-Internet Privacy and Security.
-Which data are collected from us when we use the Internet? What is a "digital footprint"?

2nd Part
-Criteria for selecting appropriate, valid, and reliable information.
-How can we avoid misinformation? What is fake news?
-Digital image processing. Strength but also a threat.

3rd Part
-Password specifications for greater security.
-What is phishing and email scams and how can we identify them?
-What are viruses, trojan horses and malware?
-Good practices for protecting our data.

4th Part
-What are the risks while we use social networks?
-What is deep fake?
-Cyberbullying and how we can deal with it.
-How can we be safe when chatting online?

The program is conducted in the Greek language.
