Brief Description - Purpose and Educational Objectives

Inspired by the landing of NASA’s Rover Perseverance on the Martian surface on February 18, 2021, the Eugenides Foundation Library created an online educational programme to explore, along with the participants, the secrets of the "red planet".

When did the first mission to Mars take place? Is there water on the "red planet"? How about volcanic or tectonic activity? What is the composition of the Martian atmosphere?

What do we mean by "valid and reliable information"? How do we evaluate scientific sources?

We will discover the answers to these, but also to other equally interesting questions, on the website of the Eugenides Foundation, which contains a variety of reliable scientific information (digital articles, books, audiovisual material).

At the end of the program the participants will have the opportunity to engage in a discussion with the Director of the Eugenides Planetarium Dr. Manos Kitsonas, analyzing further issues related to the red planet and having their questions answered.

The programme is conducted in the Greek language.
