Developing an Android smartphone application that controls a robotic vehicle.

In this workshop, students become programmers by developing their own smartphone application that controls a robotic vehicle.

Students become familiar with smartphone technology and are introduced to android programming. Using the MIT App Inventor 2 free platform students utilize different functions, procedures and commands to create an application that runs on a smartphone and can control a robotic vehicle.

Learning Objectives

Introduction to smartphone programming, smart-apps, algorithms and robotics.
Soft-skill acquisition related to the topics of programming, mathematics, engineering and design.
Development of skills such as teamwork, co-operation, problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity.
